(Read More)cuddles, bones, and lounging around. Bonnie gets along well with other dogs, but sometimes she can be bossy. She is a rough player f she gets super excited. Otherwise, she mostly co-exists. Bonnie is also good with cats. She has spent the last three years in a home with cats and even lets them snuggle near her. Although she has not been raised with children in the home, she has been fostered with a toddler and loves him to pieces. She is gentle and gets down to his level instead of jumping on him. Bonnie loves chew toys and to go for walks. She is pretty decent on leash, but does best with a harness. She is also a great travel buddy riding in the car. Bonnie knows a couple basic commands and hopes that her new home will continue to reward her with treats. She's also hoping for a home that will give her plenty of cuddle time. Bonnie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is solidly housebroken and well behaved in her crate. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-09-20-00484Zane (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Please read entire description. The first step of the adoption process is to complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $175. As long as his ad is up, we are still accepting applications. Meet Zane...again. This handsome guy with the super smile was a stray whose owners never came for him. The whole ordeal of being caught and taken to the shelter really rattled him. It took one game of fetch to win him over and show him that we will love him and take care of him. Zane is no longer the scared boy we first met--he is happy, friendly, and always up for fetch. Zane is about 2 ... (Read More)years old and a lab mix of sorts. He weighs about 50 pounds. Someone at some point showed some interest in Zane and taught him some basic commands--sit, stay, lay down. He may know more, but we just haven't uncovered them yet. Zane is interested in running around with other dogs, but he probably isn't best suited for rough housing though. The same goes for kids. Zane could do well with older kids for sure. Our vibe from him is that he would prefer an environment without a bunch of people coming and going. We do not yet know how Zane does with cats. Zane is looking for a forever home where he can get plenty of time with tennis balls because they are life. He would also enjoy frequent belly rubs. This guy loves to greet his people with tons of tail wags, but does not jump on you to say hi. We love that Zane is medium energy and easy to please, but that he is also up for an adventure. He is so smart and so happy to please his people. Zane is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. He is housebroken and goes in his kennel easily, but we don't think he would have to be crated when unsupervised. He has not shown any tendencies of being destructive or a heavy chewer. (Less)

Oh my goodness is this little girl cuteness overload! Elsie is 4-year-old-ish Jack Russell Terrier. She is now in a foster where she is ... (Read More)getting a lot of attention, cuddles and nice long walks. she is very well behaved and a joy to be around. Elsie has gotten along with all of the dogs and cats we have introduced her to. She isn't much of a playmate for dogs, but co-exists nicely. The cats are a little more interesting, but she has never really shown any desire to chase. Elsie has been able to hang out with kids and has been great. She is very friendly with all people she has met. We are looking for a home for Elsie where she will get plenty of cuddle time and nice walks--she is currently walking with an Easy Walk harness and doing great. The application is the first step of the adoption process and is required. Meet Juniper. This pretty girl came to us as a stray whose family was never found. She is a happy, silly, funny, squirrely little girl. Juniper is about 1 year old and is a lab mix. She appears to be mostly lab but there is a ... (Read More)little something else in her mix. She weighs about 45 pounds and won't likely get any bigger. Juniper loves to play with toys, tennis balls, other dogs and with kids. She is a super fun dog with a great personality. She doesn't seem at all interested in cats, but we can expect that she would play with a cat if a cat wanted to play with her. Juniper will need more than just a fenced yard and an occasional walk in her life. Ideally, she will find an active person who meets her needs and is interested in doing a lot of things with her like camp, hike, swim, visit the dogpark, and allows her to play with her friends. She is an ideal dog for an active lifestyle. At the end of the day, she will nap beside you while still holding a toy in her mouth.     Please read entire description. The first step of the adoption process is completing an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Meet Ash. This handsome guy is a 5-ish-year-old pittie mix who weighs about 65 pounds. Ash is a very loving, smart, and easy going guy who doesn't need a super active home. However, Ash is looking for a new home where he can be the only pet. Ash has been living a quiet country life and seems to love that environment. He has lived with children for the last 4 years and does great with them. However, we aren't sure how he would do transitioning to a new home with new kids. Older ... Pit Bull Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Lyla. What a doll this girl is! Lyla is a 2-year-old pittie mix who weighs about 45 pounds. She is a perfect medium size to go with her perfect medium energy. Lyla was surrendered to a local vet office because her family couldn't afford to care for her properly. Thankfully the clinic really had her best interest in mind, brought her up to date on all vetting, and placed her in a loving foster home. Lyla is a super loving, sweet girl who loves to just kind of hang out around her people. She would cuddle in her people's lap all day if time would allow. She does like to run around silly from time to to time, but she also loves to be lazy, ... (Read More)nap, and chew on her bones. Her favorites toys are tennis balls and sticks. ALL sticks. Lyla is very good girl who knows some basic commands and a couple party tricks--one of which is doing a handstand while going potty! Lyla has been around dogs smaller than she is and has done very well. She has never been around dogs her size or larger. She is fostered with cats who don't really care that she exists; the feeling is mutual. As for kids, Lyla is pretty inexperienced from what we can tell. She gets very nervous around kids and doesn't even want to approach. We think adult-sized humans are the best fit for Lyla. Perhaps over time with slow introductions, she could learn to love kiddos too. Lyla is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is solidly housebroken and crate trained too. If you would like to meet Lyla, please complete an application in the link below. Please include any questions you have directly on the application. After we review the applications, we will arrange individual meet and greets. Lyla's adoption fee is $150. www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting.html (Less)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Toby. This stunning guy is a 1-year-old shepherd mix who absolutely loves to be loved. His daily goal is to soak up as much attention as possible. He is looking for a forever home that will love his cuddles and desire to be a lap dog whenever possible. He does weigh about 65 pounds which seems to be a perfect lap dog size. ;) Toby gets along well with other dogs, but doesn't necessarily need a dog buddy in his home. His dog buddy will have to like rough play just like he does. He can be fairly energetic in spells. Once he has had a chance to run around for a couple of minutes, Toby is pretty chill and just looking for a chance for ... (Read More)snuggles or at least a nap near his people. Our vibe is that Toby is at very least a cat chaser; sometimes he looks too intense. We recommend older kids in Toby's forever home because he does jump to greet people. Of course this can (and should) be trained out of him. Since being with us, Toby has learned that toys are great. He loves tennis balls and rope toys. He has also learned the joy of obeying commands because a yummy treat is soon to follow. However, his best reward for following the rules is a hug. Like we said, Toby loves attention. If someone is looking for a super bestest buddy who would love to be an adventure companion, Toby might be the perfect guy. He is a total people pleaser and will learn quickly. Toby is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. He seems to be reliably housebroken and crate trained. He can be pretty vocal when first left alone; something to keep in mind for apartment dwellers. If you would like to meet Toby, please complete an application in the link below. Chihuahua    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed

Please read full description. If ad is listed we are still accepting applications on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. This is the first step of the adoption process and required. Meet Delores Marie or Lola for short. Lola is an adorable larger-sized chihuahua who is approaching her third birthday. This adorable girl is not the type of dog that can go into any home. Her needs are specific, but we are willing to search high and low to find her what she needs. Lola is a truly wonderful, loyal companion when she chooses you. If she doesn't like you or trust you, you are fighting an uphill battle in changing her mind. ... (Read More)We know that people are going to stop right there and not want to meet her. That's fine; we understand. However, we would appreciate it if you could continue reading and at least share her post--that's the only way we are going to find that special home for her. Lola is very smart and has been trained extensively through clicker training and knows a host of commands and tricks. She responds very well to positive reinforcement as she is very treat and toy motivated. With that being said, she is still a bit of a resource guarder around people not included in her inner circle. Lola, despite having been raised around kids, cannot co-exist in a home with kids. Their unpredictable nature and sudden noises make her very nervous. She is also iffy around other dogs. With slow, methodical introductions Lola has learned to tolerate some other dogs but it isn't always easy to make that happen. Lola does ignore mature cats. She likes kittens too, but she plays too rough with the when she gets too excited. Lola loves to go for car rides and rides well in the car. She is also an expert fetcher. She will fetch tennis balls all day if you let her. When Lola isn't going for walks or playing in the house, she is ready to be the best cuddle buddy she can be. Lola is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is housebroken as long as you are watching her walk to the door--she won't bark to let you know she has to go. She is also crate trained. If you would like to meet Delores Marie, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Her adoption fee is $125. (Less)

Golden Retriever Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered

Please read full description. If interested in meeting Red please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. If the ad is still listed, then we are still accepting applications. Meet Red. Red is a retriever mix guy who is about 4 years old. He has spent the majority of his life in extreme neglect. Before being confiscated he even spent several days without food. Red has been slowly acclimating to his new life, but we know that it's going to take a special foster or adopter to really put him on the right path. Red is a very loving, gentle guy. He is a bit shy at first due to the lack of ... (Read More)socialization for much of his life. Considering what he has been through, he is actually pretty trusting. The quickest way to his heart is with food, of course. Red is learning that food can be a reward for good behavior and he's loving that concept. This poor guy is very underweight and will probably weigh around 65 pounds once he fills out. Red has been in a playgroup with other dogs and is getting along with dogs his size. He does not prefer small dogs or cats. He doesn't play really; he is more into roaming around near the others and waiting for the next treat opportunity. He recently has experienced the joy of squeaky toys and is a big fan. He would probably do well in a home with another sweet, calm, confident dog that can show Red the ropes. He prefers medium sized or larger dogs. He is friendly with children, but would likely benefit from a not-too-busy household. Red is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He does have an ear issue that is on the mend after having had medicine for a couple of weeks. We just have to wait for it to heal. We are finding that Red may be partially deaf due to his ear issue. Red is looking for a patient, loving family who will help him adjust to his new life. The other dogs that were in the same situation as Red have done very well in crates when alone and have had minimal issues housetraining in their homes. They are quick to learn a routine. We have no doubt Red will be the same. If you would like to meet Red please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $150. A little exercise, something to chew on, and the opportunity to follow you from room to room makes him a happy camper. Stryker is 1.5-year-old mixed breed guy. He weighs bout 60 pounds and might be a boxer/shepherd/who-knows-what mix. The soft brindle coat is gorgeous. Stryker is a very friendly, happy guy who gets ... (Read More)along with everyone. He is currently living with children and does great with them. He also lives with a cat. He would kind of like it if the cat would play, but this feline roommate isn't the least bit interested. Stryker loves to play with other dogs. He could live with another dog or be an only dog who has play date or visits to the dog park. We do think he would enjoying having a buddy around at least part time. If you are looking for a total cuddle buddy, Stryker is not your guy.     Please read entire description. If you are interested in meeting Stella, please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. S Stella is currently in boarding and needs a foster or adopter ASAP! Meet Stella. This pretty Pittie is a 1 year-old baby girl who loves playtime and snuggle time equally. She is very friendly and happy once she has warmed up, but initially she can be hesitant around strangers, especially men. After she knows she is safe, she is ready to play with anyone willing to throw a ball or stick. Stella does well with other dogs. She is a wrestle-type player and would do ... (Read More)well with a similar playmate. She was tested with cats and was completely disinterested. The feel from the cats was mutual. We don't know if she would chase a cat that runs or not, but our guess is that she would want to play. Stella would do best in an active home where she can enjoy exercise and snuggle time. She knows how to sit on command, but will need work with other party tricks. Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Karlee. This pretty girl is an 8-year-old husky mix and is absolutely stunning. Karlee is a sweet girl who is looking for a doting, patient family who will love her for exactly who she is. Karlee can be a little anxious at times and paces quite a bit. She is almost always walking around with her tongue hanging way out--we just happened to catch her at the right moment where only part of her tongue can be seen. Although most people associate anxiety with destruction, this is not the case with Karlee. She has been free to roam the unsupervised for many years without issue. Karlee has been raised with another dog and some of her stress ... (Read More)could be associated with the loss of the other pet. However, Karlee doesn't seem to want to be around other animals anymore. She tolerates them fine, but isn't looking to be buddies. She currently lives with a cat, but Karlee stays clear of her whenever possible. Karlee is inexperienced with children. Teenagers who know how to go slow with introductions would be fine. An ideal home for Karlee would give her plenty of exercise. She once had a yard to run around in, but is now confined to a tie out and then comes right back in. Since this change, Karlee has packed on some weight. She is also currently left alone for long periods of time, something she hasn't always had to deal with. All in all, Karlee just wants to be loved and to have special person in her life who will spoil her. Karlee is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is solidly housebroken and does not need to be crated. If you would like to meet Karlee please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Rescue Me ID: 17-08-01-00186Leo (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

Meet Leo. This affectionate, snuggley boy is a 3-year-old shepherd mix. He probably has a few breeds in his mix, but we just can't tease them all out. His unique look with a somewhat longer body and a naturally stubby tail make him incredibly cute--oh gosh, how could we almost forget to mention those ears! He weighs about 45 pounds and is a perfect medium size. Leo can be a little shy at first, but once he knows he's safe, he is very loving and very much a Velcro dog. Leo has been raised with his own family including his girlfriend (now in a home) and their two pups (both up for adoption.) He craves other dog attention and must be placed ... (Read More)in a home with another friendly dog, preferably one who wouldn't mind his cuddles. If someone were interested in two dogs, Leo and his son Tux do great together. Leo has also been around cats. He doesn't pay much attention to them overall. We think Leo would do fine with gentle children. He has met kids and been fine, but he has never lived with them. Leo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is also solidly housebroken. Leo has never been crated, but does well being confined to a room of the house. If you would like to meet Leo please complete an adoption application on our website. We will only consider homes for Leo that have another canine. His adoption fee is $175. You can complete our application at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. As long as the ad is up, then we are still accepting applications for Leo. (Less)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults

Meet Maddie. This scruffy girl is a 10-year-old mixed breed sweetheart, probably a schnauzer mix. Maddie is petite and only weighs about 20 pounds. We know that adopting a dog that is older is not for everyone, but Maddie is absolutely not a pitiful senior--she is active, playful, and shows no signs of slowing down. Maddie greets everyone with excitement. She can get a little bouncy and will be in your lap instantly if allowed.     Please read entire description. If interested in Rigatoni, please complete an adoption application on our website. www.pawsapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Meet Rigatoni. This handsome boy is a sweet, gentle Great Pyrenees mix who was stray in a neighboring county. Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Piper. This adorable girl is an 11-year-old rat terrier/Jack Russell terrier mix. Piper is a sweetheart, but has not done well adjusting to children in the family. For this reason she is looking for a calm retirement home where she can sunbathe in the day and cuddle at night. We understand that there are challenges when looking for adopters for a senior dog, but we are confident that someone will love to have little Piper to hang out with to watch TV or to take on walks. Piper is still a spunky, spry girl who also still loves squeaky toys. She knows a few commands and is very well behaved in the home. When left alone Piper likes to ... (Read More)watch DogTV to pass the time. Adding to Piper's challenges is her desire to be an only pet. She has lived several years with Noella (also up for adoption) but has never really spent much time with other dogs. When she does encounter other dogs she mostly ignores them. She is quite the cat and other small critter chaser, so we think a home without cats would be best. And as we mentioned above, Piper would prefer no small children. She is a little cat-like in terms of being pet. When she wants attention she'll let you know. She does sometimes go to the kids for affection, but she gets annoyed when they pet too long or too hard. This little girl has the lap dog desires of a small dog, but the readiness for exploring outdoors like a big dog. She's the best of both worlds.     We first posted this pretty girl with her buddy Felicia hoping to find the girls a home together. Felicia has found her forever home. Let's make this happen for Dinky too. Once again...meet Dinky. Dinky was a stray, but has proven herself to be a wonderful companion in her foster home. She is approximately 1-1/2 years old. Dinky is shy meeting new people, but once she gets to know you, there is nothing she likes more than a good belly rub. She gets along very well with dogs and other cats. Catahoula Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Reggie. This handsome guy with the best ears is a 5-year-old Catahoula mix. Reggie is a sweet, sweet boy who loves to cuddle and meet new people. He often looks way more serious than he really is--Reggie can be very playful and silly too. Reggie is currently fostered with other dogs and does great. There is one dog that is probably too similar in personality that he doesn't jive well with. In general he needs a slow introduction and then warms up pretty quickly after that. He ignores cats completely. Of course the ones he has been around have also ignored him too. Reggie hasn't had much experience with small children, so we would ...     Meet Boris. This guy is so handsome and has one of the best smiles we have seen. He is a friendly, energetic, silly guy who would love to live with an active person who can appreciate his desire to be adventurous. Boris is about 5 years old and is a pittie mix of sorts. He was originally from South Carolina and was found in the trunk of a car starved and heartworm positive. His foster mom took him in, got him healthy, and now he is ready for his forever home. Boris loves people and likes to tell them as often as possible. He gives kisses, hugs and does the typical pittie nibbles. He has never been aggressive, but still is mouthy during ... Boris would be fine with children who can handle his strength and energy. Like we mentioned above, he is never aggressive, but he can be bouncy and strong. Boston Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults

eet Cricket. She is a petite, adorable mixed breed girl. The result of a quick poll of dog lovers has left us guessing that she might be Boston terrier/cattle dog mix. Of course there is a strong likelihood that she has 3 or 4 or more different breeds in her mix. Cricket is about 2 years old and weighs about 25 pounds. This sweetie is a bit shy to warm up to new people, but does adjust pretty quickly if you give her a little space from the start. After you're 'in', you're 'in' for good. Cricket does pretty well meeting new canine friends--some she likes better than others. She even likes to play for short intervals. However, Cricket does ... (Read More)not want to share her home with another dog. She would do best as an only pet. And because Cricket likes to take things at her own pace, we recommend older children who can understand that may get nervous about some new things. Speaking of nerves, Cricket takes a daily dose of Prozac that costs about $20 per month. This has helped reduce her worries about things such as being left home alone or being asked to do things that make her feel uncomfortable. She has been working with a behaviorist for the last several months and is now doing really, really well. Cricket walks well on leash and knows a few commands. She is quite the snuggle buddy if you don't mind sharing your bed--we know Cricket would love to have a forever home that would allow her to curl up at someone's feet at night. She also enjoys balls, tug toys and bones. Cricket is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is also solidly housebroken and crate trained. For this reason, Roux is looking for a new forever home where she can take center stage and be loved as much as she deserves. Roux is a 4-year-old cattle dog mix. What is she mixed with? We don't really know. She was found with her litter mates as pups without either parent present. Roux weighs about 50 pounds and has longer legs than your typical cattle dog. Whatever the mix is, it has created a stunning beauty. Roux loves all humans, but hasn't really ever been ... (Read More)around children. Older children would be fine. Younger children *might* be fine too, but we aren't much for taking risks, so we will say the kids should be 7-ish years old or older. American Bulldog Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We might have to change this guy's name. When he first came to PawSwaP as a puppy, he looked like a pit mix pup with unique markings. Now that he has matured into a handsome young man, we see that he really isn't pit after all, but more likely American bulldog. Let us reintroduce to the guy we call Brad Pit. We'll keep the name for simplicity sake, even if it may no longer be the best suited for him. This ultra handsome guy is a 1-year-old amazing dog who was a stray, but found love and a foster home with the very people who rescued him. He is now a young adult and weighs about 70 pounds. Brad is a very friendly guy who loves making new ... (Read More)human friends. He greets everyone with a wagging tail, a big smile and a little bounce. When Brad was first found, he was emaciated and stressed. He had a brief encounter with another dog who isn't awesome with other dogs. Brad's reaction worried the foster family that he may not like other dogs. Last week, we consulted a behaviorist about Brad to figure out what kind of home he would succeed in. Well, come to find out, Brad loves other dogs! He loves to play and would do great with an active Buddy who isn't overly dominant. He showed no signs of aggression and was really relaxed even when a herd of dogs was barking at him begging for his attention. As for cats, this appears to be an extremely new concept for him. He will need to be guided around appropriate play with a kitty. He kind of wants to tackle a cat the way he does other dogs. We're guessing that most cats won't love that play style. Brad is fine with kids; just keep in mind that he a is a big boy who sometimes forgets his size. Not only is Brad fun and funny, he is also a lovable baby. He is cuddly and sweet. He loves to play with his tennis ball. He is also very well trained. he knows several commands and listens very well. His ideal home will love him bunches and continue the training the finders have started. Brad is super smart and loves to learn, especially when treats are involved. Brad is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is solidly housebroken and crate trained. He is perfect little boy. If you would like to offer Brad a forever home please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $175. (Less)

Bluetick Coonhound Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Ooma. This 6-year-old coonhound mix is beyond adorable and so ultra sweet. She is gentle and loving to all creatures. Sadly her current family has developed some harsh allergies and forced to find her a new forever home. We think this should be pretty easy because she is pretty easy to fall in love with. Ooma was once a stray and appeared to have had many litters before finally being spayed. She In her current home Ooma lives with cats and does great. In fact, she loves to play with her new little kitten friend. She is also happy to meet new dogs. She is a little social butterfly. She is currently living with a toddler and is very ... (Read More)gentle with her too. Ooma knows a couple of commands and has come a long ways in the year she has been with this family. We are guessing that she didn't have the most stellar beginning at life because a lot of noise, loud noises or harsh voices make her pretty nervous. She gets particularly nervous if a man with a deep voice is stern with her. She's such a good girl that there really shouldn't be any reason for that anyway. Ooma is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She is also housebrokn and crate trained. In fact she likes to have her crate door open so that she can retreat to it whenever she needs a safe place. Oooma is pretty decent on leash but gets little nervous in the car unless she is in someone's lap. She's a 60-pound baby (who could lose a little weight). If you would like to meet Ooma please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Her adoption fee is $150. (Less)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

Meet Solana. This sweet girl can be added to our list of great saves. She, along with two others, was given a given a deadline at IACC to either find rescue or be put to sleep. As awful as it sounds, sometimes large-intake shelters have to make awful choices when they get bombarded with strays and owner surrenders. When there is no place for the dogs to go, what other choices do they have? We get it and try to help when we can. Solana was definitely worth the save! Solana is a two-year-old pittie mix. She is a compact girl with a lot of strength in her little body. She weighs 45 pounds. We can tell she has something else non-bully in her ... (Read More)mix, but we aren't sure what. Maybe Jack Russell? Anyway, we love Solana and her friendly playful spirit. She is a total sweetheart who makes friends quickly. She was abandoned in her home for several days before she was found. She was scared and very thin. You would never know by her awesome spirit--she is happy, bouncy playful, and always ready for snuggles. Solana loves having a canine companionship. She is deaf and might feel comforted having another dog to read body language and cues about her surroundings. Solana does not do well with cats. We could see Solana in a home with children who are steady on their feet. She get a little bouncy when she's extra excited. Solana is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is housebroken, but not crate trained. Well, she can go into a crate, but absolutely hates it. At her foster home she is confined to one room and does great. She will need more work on commands. It's a little tough because of her deafness. Simply giving a verbal command won't cut it. We are working on hand cues with er and want her forever family to do the same. Please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting if you are interested in meeting Solana. Her adoption fee is $150. (Less)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Brad Pit. See what we did? With such good looks we thought the name was quite appropriate. Brad was found in Carroll County, all alone in the middle of the road. He was emaciated and scared. Brad's finders took him in, looked for his owners, and took him to a vet. Brad is now a happy, healthy guy who needs a forever home. Brad is about 8 months old. He is clearly a pit, but those eyes and his markings really scream Catahoula. He weighs about 50 pounds. Brad is a very friendly guy who loves making new human friends. He greets everyone with a wagging tail, a big smile and a little bounce. The biggest reason Brad cannot stay with his ... (Read More)finders is that he doesn't seem to prefer other animals in his life. Similar-sized dogs with slow introductions might work out. Otherwise, Brad would be totally content as an only pet. He loves to run and play, but can easily entertain himself. His ball is everything. He will stand at the top of the stairs, drop the ball, then chase after as it bounces and rolls away. Not only is Brad fun and funny, he is also a lovable baby. He is cuddly and sweet. His ideal home will love him bunches and continue the training the finders have started. Brad is super smart and loves to learn, especially when treats are involved. Brad is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is solidly housebroken and crate trained. Other than the grumbles at other animals, he is perfect little boy. If you are interested in meeting Brad, please fill out our adoption application found on the website below. This is the first step in the adoption process. Be sure to include on the application any questions you have. After we review the applications, we will arrange individual meet and greets.
