Rescue Me ID: 17-06-14-00620Nellie Sue (female)

Bluetick Coonhound    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Nellie Sue. Isn't she beautiful? Nellie, as is so often the case, was a stray whose owners were never found. She is a gorgeous bluetick coonhound who is at most just a year old; she seems to have a lot of pup in her still. Nellie weighs about 65 pounds and is as soft and squishy as a hound can be. She is very friendly and very happy, always. As is common with coonhounds, Nellie has a decent amount of energy, but chills out quickly after her daily exercise. She will need a fenced yard to keep her contained because her nose works very well and leads her wherever it wants to. Plus, she is learning to play fetch--sort of-- and will need a ... (Read More)yard to keep up the game. Nellie seems to like most (perhaps all) dogs. We aren't sure about cats, but we can probably guess that she is a chaser at very least. Nellie would do fine with kids who could handle her jumping from excitement until he learns better manners. Nellie doesn't seem to have had much training, although she has already caught on to . A leash and collar were a pretty big deal when she first arrived. She'll get the hang of leash training because food is very motivating, but it will take someone willing to put in a little effort to get a big reward of kisses and cuddles--Nellie's expertise. Nellie is now spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She also had her cherry eye corrected and is ready for forever home. Nellie does a great job keeping her kennel clean at the shelter and will probably do as well in a home environment. We don't know her experience with crates, but she has been cooperative acclimating to a kennel. If you would like to meet Nellie, please complete an application in the link below. Please include any questions directly on the application. Nellie's adoption fee is $175. http://www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting.html (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-14-00618Gibbs (male)

Siberian Husky    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Gibbs. Husky lovers are really going to love this guy. Gibbs was a local stray whose family could not be found, but thankfully he knew just the right home to go to for help. The finders have been taking excellent care of Gibbs while we arranged his vetting and could start the search for his forever home. Gibbs is about 4 years old and such a super guy. Gibbs has won everyone over with his friendly disposition and good nature. He seems to be good with other dogs. Unfortunately, the finders' dogs don't love Gibbs and have to mostly keep the dogs separated. Even with the other dogs not loving him, he has kept up his spirits and doesn't ... (Read More)mind their grumpiness. We don't know how Gibbs is with cats--there haven't been any willing testers. As for kids, he would probably be fine with any kids who know how to be gentle and kind to dogs. He is pretty laid back and would probably appreciate a non-chaos environment. An ideal forever home for Gibbs will have a fenced yard and also the willingness to give him proper husky exercise. He does seem to want to be near his people whenever possible, but does well being confined to his own space in the house without issue. Gibbs is now neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is housebroken. His experience with crates is not known. If you would like to meet Gibbs, please complete an application in the link below. Please include any questions directly on the application. Rescue Me ID: 17-05-28-00266  (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We first posted this super handsome guy a couple of months ago. He tried out a home for a bit, but the other dog in the home really wasn't interested in having a playmate. So, our handsome boy had to return. Once again...meet Tanner. This beautiful boy is a 4-year-old-ish, 65-pound German shepherd mix who was found as a stray. His owner was located, but no longer wanted to claim Tanner. It makes us a sad because Tanner is so wonderful. We can't imagine him not being wanted. Tanner is very friendly, happy, and good-natured. He gets along with other dogs, but gets a little nervous in play groups--not aggressive, just nervous. We were told ... (Read More)that Tanner has played with neighborhood kids in the past. Tanner is a medium-energy dog . He would probably do best in a fenced yard or in an active household. We think he would also love a playful dog buddy, but it isn't a requirement. We were told that Tanner had been tied to a shed his whole life. If that is in fact the case, he is incredibly well adjusted. He knows several commands and listens very well. He isn't destructive in the home, but will follow the scent of food--garbage should be out of reach and counter tops should be clear. Tanner is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is solidly housebroken and kennel trained. However, he would probably be fine without a crate. If you are interested in meeting Tanner please complete a required adoption application on our website. This is the first step of the adoption process. If Tanner's ad is still listed, then we are still reviewing applications. www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Tanner's adoption fee is $150. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-28-00203Max looking for love (male)

Golden Retriever Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

It has been awhile since we posted Max. We have received a few nibbles, but nothing has been the right fit. When a dog stays in any program for a long time, potential adopters start to think that there is something wrong with the dog--he or she is broken. In Max's case he has a couple of specific requirements, but is other wise one of the sweetest and funniest guys we have had in the program. Here's everything you need to know about him. Our most handsome guy has quite the history. Max is a 2-year-old golden retriever/husky mix who bounced around to a few homes before he became a PawSwaP dog. Once in our program we had to test a couple of ... (Read More)homes before we learned what kind of home would best suit his needs. Last year we thought we had found just the right home to accommodate some of the emotional scars that remain from his rough beginning. Unfortunately, the environment was the fit we had hoped for. Let's start with everything that is awesome about Max. Max is a very sweet, loving, affectionate guy who is very loyal and trusting of his people. He used to need a little time to warm up to strangers, but this seems to have improved quite a bit.He loves to cuddle and be loved on, but he isn't a pest. He can also chill out at your feet and entertain himself with a ball. Max is also tons of fun to play with and is pretty comical when he gets in the right mood. Max has also attended a couple of training classes where he learned leash skills and numerous commands. Max is very smart and loves to be rewarded for good behavior. He is also food motivated and willing to learn new things as much as anyone will work with him. Although he has had quite a bit of training Max is still learning. Max has shared a home with older children and has been successful. We would not recommend a home with smaller children. And here's what makes Max a tough placement. First and foremost, Max must be an only pet in his forever home. He is not good with cats nor dogs, and if given the opportunity, Max will chase both. For this reason, Max MUST have a fenced yard. Max's other issue his separation anxiety. He cannot live in an apartment because he barks as soon as he is left alone. He does eventually settle in, but it takes awhile and in the meantime could annoy neighbors sharing a common wall. Max also struggles in crates, but needs to be crated when unsupervised. It takes a little work to make him feel secure, but he does get the hang of it after some practice and has been crated in his past homes, he just doesn't love it. Max is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. He is solidly housebroken and is very well behaved when supervised. Max is currently on Prozac which seems to have really helped with the separation and anxiety and his confinement issues. He really is a relaxed, regular guy these days. If you think you can offer Max a fantastic foster or forever home please complete a required application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Max will need a fenced yard and a home with no other pets. His adoption fee is $150. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-28-00186Piper (female)

Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Piper. This adorable girl is an 11-year-old rat terrier/Jack Russell terrier mix. Piper is a sweetheart, but has not done well adjusting to children in the family. For this reason she is looking for a calm retirement home where she can sunbathe in the day and cuddle at night. We understand that there are challenges when looking for adopters for a senior dog, but we are confident that someone will love to have little Piper to hang out with to watch TV or to take on walks. Piper is still a spunky, spry girl who also still loves squeaky toys. She knows a few commands and is very well behaved in the home. When left alone Piper likes to ... (Read More)watch DogTV to pass the time. Adding to Piper's challenges is her desire to be an only pet. She has lived several years with Noella (also up for adoption) but has never really spent much time with other dogs. When she does encounter other dogs she mostly ignores them. She is quite the cat and other small critter chaser, so we think a home without cats would be best. And as we mentioned above, Piper would prefer no small children. She is a little cat-like in terms of being pet. When she wants attention she'll let you know. She does sometimes go to the kids for affection, but she gets annoyed when they pet too long or too hard. Piper is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She is also solidly housebroken and does not need to be crated. If you would like to meet Piper please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Her adoption fee is $125. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-28-00184Noella (female)

Jack Russell Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Noella. No matter which picture we thought about posting, Noella looks like a medium sized dog. We're not sure what is so deceiving, but this girl is a 6-year-old chihuahua/Jack Russell terrier mix and weighs about 15 pounds. Her mesmerizing blue eye catches your attention, but her personality will steal your heart. This little girl has the lap dog desires of a small dog, but the readiness for exploring outdoors like a big dog. She's the best of both worlds. Noella lived the first part of her life child free and since the addition of two kids, she can get stressed out. She has never bitten, but does sometimes low growl to warn kids ... (Read More)when the petting is too much. On the other hand she does sometimes choose to lay right in between the kids just to hang out. We think older, more predictable kids who know how to be gentle would be ideal for her. Noella has not been raised with other dogs besides the one other dog in her home. She would do best as an only dog in her new home. Noella does not like cats. Noella knows a few commands and has great house manners. She is trustworthy in the home without a crate and has been for many years. Noella also loves to ride in the car and run around off leash--she would best be suited for a home with a fenced yard. If she does go for a walk, she walks well on leash. She loves to sunbathe and to play with squeaky toys too. Noella is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She is also solidly housebroken. If she has to be left alone for extended periods of time, she will also use potty pads. If you would like to meet Noella please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Her adoption fee is $150. (Less)

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

We first posted this pretty girl with her buddy Felicia hoping to find the girls a home together. Felicia has found her forever home. Let's make this happen for Dinky too. Once again...meet Dinky. Dinky was a stray, but has proven herself to be a wonderful companion in her foster home. She is approximately 1-1/2 years old. Dinky is shy meeting new people, but once she gets to know you, there is nothing she likes more than a good belly rub. She gets along very well with dogs and other cats. Dinky also loves human companionship. You'll often catch her following her foster family around the house, although she isn't really a lap kitty. This ... (Read More)pretty girl can be playful, but can also pass the afternoon watching out the window while hanging out on her cat tree. Dinky is spayed and up to date on vaccines. She uses the litter box faithfully and is an all-around great cat. Rescue Me ID: 17-05-28-00166Bo the Beagle (male)

Beagle    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Bo. This handsome little guy is the epitome of beagles. He is soooo sweet, soooo friendly, soooo cuddly and always up for opportunities to sniff and explore. Bo is a 5-year-old, 20-pound sweetheart. Once upon a time Bo was a stray whose owners were never found. Bo seems to get along with absolutely everyone. He has lived with other dogs of a variety of sizes and got along with all of them really well. He also lived with cats. Grant it, the cats were also used to dogs and everyone do very will with one another. Bo does like to sniff the kitties and might playfully chase them if they run, but he is also fine with kitty cuddles if they ... (Read More)are up for it. Bo has been around older children and loves their attention. He doesn't have much experience with really small kids. We think he would be fine with any kid who is sweet and gentle. Bo is mostly looking for a home with a secure backyard where he can safely roam and sniff. He does, however, also love to go for walks and will bay like the hound that he is when you grab a leash. Most of Bo's days are spent cuddling in laps. In particular he likes being rocked to sleep. Boy is also well behaved in the house and will sit pretty for treats. He is housebroken and crate trained too. Bo will go to his vet appointment June 6th. At that time he will be brought up to date on vetting--neuter, vaccines, heartworm test, and microchip. If you would like to meet Bo, please complete the application in the link below. Please include any question you have directly on the application. Chihuahua    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Rosie. This girl is perfect for any chihuahua lover. Rosie is a 5-year-old sweetheart who is friendly and super cuddly. She is about 10 pounds and doesn't mind being toted around. She is a bit of a velcro pup and loves to find an empty lap to lay on. Rosie is great with other dogs. She isn't interested in a playmate but can co-exist nicely with other dogs who have an equally calm demeanor. She once lived with kids. We think she would be fine with any size human who is gentle. Although we don't know what experience Rosie has had with cats, we can't imagine her being more than curious. She's a pretty laid back girl. Rosie would do best ... (Read More)with a fenced yard because that is what she is used to in her previous home. She is currently being leashed for potty breaks and it is still an adjustment for her, leading to occasional accidents. Rosie hopes to find a forever home where she can sleep in bed and be spoiled rotten. She is a very loving girl who deserves it! Rosie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is can be trusted uncrated when supervised, but is also fine being crated. Bull Terrier Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Tina. This super cute baby is a 5-month-old mixed breed girl. Perhaps she is pittie or bull terrier mixed with shepherd and a dash of whatever else you can think of. She's a super sweet, loving girl who has quite a bit of energy. She came to us all the way from Alabama because she was at risk of euthanasia. It's so hard to believe that such a great dog could have almost not made it. Tina loves to run and play. She loves her toys and bones. She also loves to go for walks, but will definitely need an Easy Walk harness for awhile because she is still learning mot tug. And quite honestly, she's already pretty strong. Tina is friendly with ... (Read More)all humans As for kids, she might be too bouncy for small children. She loves with as much gusto as she plays. Tina would do well with another playful dog in her home, but would prefer a home without cats. Tina is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She came to us with a mystery scar that was thought to be a bullet wound. After her vet visit, we now think she may have been hit by a car. She is all healed up now. Tina is well behaved in the home and is mostly housebroken. She is crate trained, although she will whine when she first goes in. American Bulldog    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Trooper. This handsome boy is a 1-year-old American bulldog who is looking for a fantastic forever home. Trooper Trooper is a big boy, weighing about 85 pounds now. We do expect him to fill out a bit as he matures. Trooper is super lovable, but intimidating to most. He is inquisitive and appears to be serious, but under the deep stares is playful, happy boy who loves treats. Trooper has lived with other dogs and does great after he gets over the initial excitement. His bestest buddy was a little Boston terrier girl who loved running with the big dogs. Trooper will need a home with no cats. Trooper gets nervous around small children. He ... (Read More)just hasn't had much experience and the experience he had, the kids were a little too much for him. We think he would be fine with older kids (12+) who know how to appropriately interact with dogs. Trooper does know a few commands and has great house manners. He is very strong on leash if he is not on an Easy Walk harness. He does like car rides and gets really excited in new places. Trooper is looking for a forever home, preferably with a fenced yard where he can be spoiled and loved on. He really likes to cuddle and is used to sleeping in bed with his people. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Frasier. This is one cute little dude. He is 3-year-old mixed breed guy who has a lot of spunk. Your guess is as good as ours as far as breeds go. Something medium and adorable is all we can say. Frasier is a smart, playful guy who would love to have an active owner who will give all of the attention he needs. Frasier is friendly with people and will especially bond with anyone offering him a toy. He has blast with balls and pull toys. He does really well with other dogs, but can get frustrated with dogs who don't listen to their owners. In other words, he polices other dogs' obedience. He is a smart cookie and likes to learn new ... (Read More)things. Hopefully he will find an awesome family who will continue with the training he has already started. Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

Meet Gabby. This pretty girl is a 5-year-old lab /husky mix who is looking for a forever family that is home a bit more than her currently family is. She is a medium-energy girl who can sometimes be shy at first. This is usually also connected to being in a strange environment. Gabby has lived with another dog her whole life., but sadly, the other dog is older and not much of a playmate to her--something that would probably be listed on top of Gabby's wish list for her new home. Gabby has also lived with small children. She is gentle and patient as long as the kids know how to be gentle and patient with her. Gabby has never shared her home ... She does get anxious if she is left alone for too long or if it storms. Rescue Me ID: 17-05-03-00182Makenzie (female)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Makenzie. This pretty girl is just as sweet as she in unique. She is a 2-year-old basset/pit mix, maybe a basspit hound. Get it? Makenzie can be a little shy at first and is generally submissive-- she rolls over and shows her belly to any person and any dog. She has NEVER been aggressive with anything, but does enjoy chasing cats. Makenzie had some slight physical developmental delays when she was a pup due to her needing casts on her front legs. During this critical time she wasn't able to be taken outside regularly for potty breaks. This put her behind the curve in terms of housetraining. She is doing much better these days, but ... (Read More)will have an occasional accident. This is probably her one and only flaw. Makenzie has been raised around other dogs. She does great with everyone of all sizes, but she would probably also be fine as an only pet. Makenzie is also sweet and gentle with kids. She may not love to be around a bunch of rowdy kids, but hanging out and being loved would be right up her alley. Makenzie is so loving and snuggly--all 58 pounds of her. The more love she cant get, the better. She knows some basic commands and does well on leash. She is super treat motivated and is ready to learn anything you teach her. Makenzie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is well behaved in her crate and mostly housetrained (see note above). If you would like to offer Makenzie a forever home, please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Her adoption fee is $150. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-01-00081Royal (male)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Royal. There are fewer sweethearts in this world than this handsome guy. He is friendly to all and always happy. And when you are with him, you have to be happy too---he makes sure of it. Royal is a 3-year-old pittie mix who weighs about 50 pounds. He is a fairly high energy guy who loves to run and play. Royal gets along with other dogs, but he isn't much of a rumble-tumble/wrestling kind of guy. At most he wants to run along with another dog and can co-exist in a home environment just fine. That being said, Royal prefers to be with people and to play with people over other canines. He loves rope toys, but also plays with balls. ... (Read More)Royal could live in a home with cats as long as he is monitored. He will chase cats that run unless he is corrected. Thankfully he takes correction well and will back off as soon as he is told to leave it. Royal has spent the last year with children as young as 5 years old . He is friendly and gentle with kids, but his energy is sometimes more than some young kids want to deal with. Royal is a cuddle baby when he isn't running. Part of that comes from his stellar personality, but part of that is because this guy is always cold! Poor Royal as a naturally thin coat than makes him very sensitive to weather. When the temps drop below 50 degrees, Royal wears a coat to stay warm. Royal is a bit strong on leash. We always recommend an Easy Walk harness or similar for dogs who have a tendency to tug on leash. Otherwise, Royal is well mannered and knows some basic commands. Royal is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.. He is solidly housebroken and crate trained. If you would like to offer Royal a forever home please complete an application in the link below. Please include any questions directly on the application. Royal's adoption fee is $150. http://www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting.html (Less)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Boris. This guy is so handsome and has one of the best smiles we have seen. He is a friendly, energetic, silly guy who would love to live with an active person who can appreciate his desire to be adventurous. Boris is about 5 years old and is a pittie mix of sorts. He was originally from South Carolina and was found in the trunk of a car starved and heartworm positive. His foster mom took him in, got him healthy, and now he is ready for his forever home. Boris loves people and likes to tell them as often as possible. He gives kisses, hugs and does the typical pittie nibbles. He has never been aggressive, but still is mouthy during ... (Read More)play. Boris is good with other dogs, especially the ladies. He can be possessive over food. As long as he is fed separately, he is fine.Boris gets a long well with cats, but does chase them. He has never hurt a cat in his foster home--those cats are also pretty dog savvy. Boris would be fine with children who can handle his strength and energy. Like we mentioned above, he is never aggressive, but he can be bouncy and strong. We wouldn't want a child to accidentally get hurt by his enthusiasm. Boris is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. He is solidly housebroken and crate trained. However , he does not need a crate when unsupervised in the home. If you would like to offer Boris a forever home please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $150. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-10-00561Jazmine (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Jazmine. This super pretty girls in a 8-year-old German shepherd mix. Since we will likely be asked if we know what she is mixed with, we'll say upfront that we have no idea. We have guessed things like rottie. Truth be told she is probably mixed with an adorable mutt which made her the perfect mixed breed girl. Jazmine is pretty perfect. She is very friendly with everyone. She can get a little nervous in new places, but does warm up when she realizes that everyone around her is totally relaxed. Jazmine does great with cats and other dogs. She currently shares her home with both and enjoys their company, but she could also do well as ... (Read More)an only pet if she weren't left alone too much at one time. Jazmine has also been around children without issue. She is a really sweet, gentle soul who loves to be love, and just as much she loves to give love. Jazmine likes to go for walks as long as they aren't too long. Hiking and longer adventures probably wouldn't be her thing. She does well on car rides and has excellent house manners. Jazmine would love a forever home that will let her snuggle often. She would also appreciate regular brushings and someone who could turn a blind eye to all of that shepherd shedding. Jazmine is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is also housebroken and crate trained. The only thing left to tell is that Jazmine, although not obvious from this picture, has THE LONGEST TONGUE EVER. If you would like to meet the sweet, sweet, sweet, Jazmine please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Her adoption fee is $150. (Less)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Blue. This 10-year-old pittie needs a fantastic retirement home where he can just chill. He has lived with one family his whole life, but when they were no longer giving him any attention including basic care, extended family stepped in to help while we searched for a foster or forever home. Blue is a very sweet, friendly boy who would prefer to spend his days with his people rather than in a crate. Blue has been raised with kids, cats, and dogs and does well with all three. He has lived with toddlers, but has also met younger kids without issue. He might sneak in a kiss or two but is always gentle. Blue had a dog buddy in his former ... (Read More)home who was more his size. They did well together, but he does even better with smaller dogs. He was also living with cats in his former home. He seems to get along with everyone--human, canine and feline. Blue is a low energy dog who is strong on leash, but does better with a harness. He likes to ride in the car and go where his people go. Blue has great house manners too. We are looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt hoe that can help us get Blue to his vet appointment to become up to date on vetting on us. Blue is housebroken and crate trained. If you would like to meet Blue, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $125. (Less)

Treeing Walker Coonhound Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Ooma. This 6-year-old coonhound/bassett mix is beyond adorable and so ultra sweet. She is gentle, loving and great companion. Although Ooma loves to go for walks, she would do best with a fenced in yard to help her get enough exercise while keep her safe. Ooma is very friendly with everyone and everything. She has lived with cats and has done great. Her former kitten friend was also a great snuggle buddy. Ooma is also very excited to meet new dogs. She is quite the social butterfly. Omma has lived with children of various ages and has done great--even with toddlers. Omma would like a home that can offer her walks and cuddle time in ... (Read More)equal amounts. She is a 60-pound snuggle buddy. Ooma knows a couple of commands and has come a long way since being adopted a year ago. We are guessing that she didn't have the most stellar beginning at life because too much chaos, loud noises or harsh voices make her pretty nervous. She is doing much better being out and about in public places these days. She has learned that these places give her a lot of attention, and of course she is on board with that. Ooma is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She is also housebroken and crate trained. In fact she likes to have her crate door open so that she can retreat to it whenever she needs a safe place. If you would like to meet Ooma please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Her adoption fee is $150. (Less)
