Rescue Me ID: 16-11-24-00160Val (female)

Boston Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Val. This adorably perfect girl has been hanging around with us for almost 3 months while she waited for her heartworm treatment. We are happy to say that Val is healthy and ready for her forever home. Val arrived at PawSwaP with three tiny babies who have long found their forever homes. Now it's momma's turn! Val is an almost 2-year-old Boston terrier/pit bull mix who only weighs about 40 pounds--every ounce full of personality! Val is very friendly with everyone and loves to meet anyone who will give her love and affection; this includes children! She is being fostered with other dogs and loves having a playful friend in her home. We ... (Read More)have a feeling that she would prefer having a fog buddy over being an only dog. She is also being fostered with dog-savvy cats who can handle Val chasing them. Val is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is also housebroken and crate trained. She needs a little leash training, but is already better than when she arrived. She rides well in the car and loves to visit friends at their homes. Bodie know basic commands, loves to go for walks and rides well in the car. Bodie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She is also housebroken and crate trained. Rescue Me ID: 16-11-24-00149Sanderson (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Sanderson is a 1-year-old mixed breed guy who only weighs about 40 pounds. He is a perfect medium who is probably a lab mix. His coat is short and velvety, making you want to just curl up with him and nap. Sanderson was a stray in the county before winding up at the shelter, and as it often is the case, no one claimed him. We have gotten to know Sanderson quite well now. He is a bundle of energy when you see him in his kennel and for the first 10 minutes after letting him out to run and play. After that initial bout of the sillies, he calms down and plays nicely with balls, sticks, or walnuts falling from the tree. Sanderson is learning ... (Read More)commands and has sit mastered perfectly. He gets pretty serious as he concentrates on the moment the treat will land in his mouth. We think this motivation will easily be transferred to many other things. Sanderson is playful with other dogs. He has been out in the yard with other dogs and also loves to go visit anybody else who is still waiting in the kennel area. We think Sanderson would be great with children who are steady on their feet. Sanderson gets pretty excited and jumps for joy. He wouldn't ever intentionally hurt anyone, but we also don't want any accidental injuries either. We do not know how Sanderson is with cats. Sanderson is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Sanderson is well behaved in his kennel at the shelter and keeps his kennel very clean. We think he once lived in a home and will be solidly housebroken in his forever home. If you would like to meet Sanderson please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. HIs adoption fee is $175. (Less)

Chinese Crested    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Mojito is looking for a new home. Through no fault of his own, his owner had health issues and needed to move into assisted living. Mojito is a neutered, 7 year old Chinese Crested. He is crate trained and house trained as long as he is on a schedule. Mojito does well around gentle children and likes other dogs and cats. Mojito does suffer from a heart murmur and was just started on Enalapril which is a low cost medication. He also has very few teeth left, but can still eat treats and heart food with no issues. He also had a small mass removed from the corner of his eye. All of these issues are common for the breed. Mojito is neutered, up ... Rescue Me ID: 16-11-08-00214Red (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Red. This 2.5-year-old handsome guy is tugging at our heartstrings. His story is sad, and we want to help. Red was bought from 'some guy' when he was just a puppy and was instantly made an outside dog. He had a 5-ft chain where he spent all day every day. He had a doghouse for shelter, but he wasn't ever allowed to do the fun puppy things that most dogs get to do, like playing with toys. After some time it became obvious to extended family that poor Red, as sweet as was, was also being beaten. It took a long time and a lot of coaxing for the extended family to convince the owners to give them Red. Two weeks ago Red was rescued and ... (Read More)given the chance to run freely (in a fenced yard). He didn't even know what to do, and his body wasn't ready to do it. Poor Red didn't even know how to run. His legs were stiff and just not very coordinated. That has subsided now for the most part. Red is safe, but he is still living outdoors because the homeowners won't allow him indoors. We need to get him to a foster home where we can bring him up to date on vetting and start giving him the pampered life he deserves. Red is a mixed breed guy and weighs about 55 pounds. He might be chocolate lab and shepherd but no one really knows. He is super adorable and super sweet. He is shy at first, but once he sees that you will treat him kindly he is very interested in love and attention. For pictures, Red didn't want to stand on leash in a public place without the security of someone right next to him; that's why is getting a little extra support in his picture. Red has been around kids, cats, and other dogs. He is very sweet with everyone. His timid approach to things is really just shy and never aggressive. We strongly believe that Red will be the most amazing companion once he has blossomed. He has such a desire to be cuddled and loved on that we can't wait to see him in a home where he gets that and more. As soon as we place Red we will get him brought up to date on all of his vetting--neuter, vaccines, heartworm test, and microchip. Red has never been indoors so we cannot say whether he is housebroken yet. Our suspicion is that he will catch on pretty quickly because pottying outside is all he has ever known. It has also been our experience that outside dogs who transition indoors do not struggle with that adjustment. Red has not ever been crated, but the family who has him now is going to start working on that. If you can help us help Red or if you have any questions, please send us a message at pawswapofgreaterlafayette@aol.com. If you want to meet, foster, or adopt Red then please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adoping. His adoption fee is $150. (Less)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Honey. This pretty girl is a 3-year-old Australian cattle dog mix. Honey has lived with her current family her entire life. Despite their efforts of socialization, training classes, and behaviorist intervention, Honey has decided that she does not want to live with another dog anymore. Honey is friendly and happy to greet all humans, but she will need to be an only pet in her forever home. Honey has been very loved and really enjoys being with her people. She could do well in an active environment where she can go on hikes or be a jogging buddy. Honey gets pretty excited when she is first leashed, but that excitement usually dissipates ... (Read More)after a few minutes and her leash manners are much better. Honey knows some basic commands and is well behaved in the home. She has been raised with a toddler, and does great with her, but the family thinks she would do best with older kids in a new home. Honey likes predictability which you don't always get with little ones. Plus, she gets a little anxious around crying kids--she wants to soothe them and doesn't know how. Honey is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She is solidly housebroken and very well behaved in her crate. Rescue Me ID: 16-11-08-00121Gino (male)

American Bulldog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

Meet Gino. Obviously this guy is incredibly handsome, but it must be emphasized that he is equally amazing in his personality. Gino is a friendly hunk who loves attention. He is a 4-year-old American bulldog (mix?) who weighs about 70 pounds and thinks he fits comfortably on your lap. After all Gino has been through, we feel like he deserves to lounge wherever he wants. Gino was a stray in need of rescue help who was full of lumps and bumps when we made him a PawSwaP dog. The lumps were removed successfully, and although the one on his head turned out to be malignant, the vet feels confident that the cancer has been removed. After that we ... (Read More)had a scare because Gino was bitten by a recluse spider and had to receive emergency treatment. It was a waiting game to see whether he would lose a little tissue or his whole leg. Thankfully it was a big scare with little consequence; Gino only had some skin damage, and has since healed. And that brings us to his final health-related woe: heartworm disease. As soon as we brought him into our program, we had him tested for heartworms--positive! Ugh. Well, of course we treated him and that's where we are today. Gino has gone through it all and come out the other side. He is invincible (the Invincible Hunk?)! The health struggles in the first few months with us may seem like an obstacle for adopters, but who more than he deserves a great, loving forever home? Gino is perfect in all ways. He does great will any human. He is friendly and so lovable. he is also great with other dogs. he is fostered with dogs of different ages and sizes; he doesn't mind any of them. He is also great with cats. Gino knows some basic commands and absolutely LOVES to ride in the car. He likes to walk, but isn't great on leash. He will need an Easy Walk harness and a little patience. He is an easy guy to love and a super polite roommate. Gino is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. He is solidly housebroken and crate trained, but can be trusted just confined to one room of the house, if necessary. If you would like to meet the handsome guy or if you have any questions, complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $150. Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Bones. This gorgeous guy is a 2-year-old mixed breed boy. We are guessing that he has black and tan coonhound in him, but his brother doesn't have any tan anywhere. (Check out Jack, also available from our organization). He weighs about 60 pounds and is as sweet as they come. Bones is looking for a new forever home due to a lot of hurdles thrown their family's way in the last year. The next several months will require the family to be gone from home much more often, and they won't be able to care for dogs any longer. Bones has been raised around a lot of people. He likes to greet neighbors walking by and the garbage man is his buddy. ... (Read More)He an be a little reserved in new environments, but he welcomes attention even if he is unsure of his surroundings. Bones has also been raised around children. He has BFF who comes and stays with him for a couple weeks at a time, and Bones loves it. He loves to run and play outside with anyone who will run and play with him, including kids and other dogs. Rescue Me ID: 16-10-24-00302Ripley (male)

Brittany Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Ripley. This ultra handsome guy came to us from IACS after his near-death experience; he was one day past his euthanasia date when we sprung him from doggy jail. Thankfully that extra day of reprieve gave us the chance to get our ducks in a row and make Ripley a PawSwaP dog. Our new addition is a 4-year-old-ish (it's just a guess) mixed breed guy who looks to have some genes from the spaniel, spitz, and collie families. He isn't very large at all, just about 48 pounds. Ripley is friendly and happy who teeters between total independence and extra sweet and affectionate. He is a fast learner who will enjoy having a special person to train ... (Read More)and teach him all sorts of fun tricks. Ripley one drawback is that he does not care for other dogs. He is fine at the vets office and going for walks. Even at the shelter he walked past dogs without issue, but he doesn't really want to play or really interact. Ripley seems to want to chase cats. We would trust Ripley with most kids. He is a silly, fun guy who would probably love someone to play ball with him. If you look closely (or maybe with just a glance) you can see Ripley's dreadlocks on his ears. Since Ripley is currently being boarded, he has not received a proper grooming, but we plan to have this done as soon as possible. Another item we keep forgetting is that Ripley is at very least mostly deaf. There are moments when he reacts to certain sounds or vibrations. Most of the time, though, Ripley cannot hear even the most basic sounds. The upside to this, Ripley is very quiet himself and a very deep sleeper. He is being treated for a fairly severe ear infection, so there may be some improvement after the course of his medication. Ripley is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is also housebroken and crate trained.     Meet Gilbert. This adorable guy is a goober. He is silly, funny, always happy, and very affectionate, not to mention also super adorable. Gilbert is listed as a 9-year-old pit mix. We don't believe it. This guy has sparkly teeth and more than just a skip in his step. He is a perfect medium who weighs about 45 pounds. He has a little gray on his muzzle, but, just like with people, he may just have early-onset gray. Gilbert is no puppy, but he does have such a baby look about him. We can't get enough of this charming guy! Gilbert is a total sweetheart who loves to meet new people, greeting them with kisses. He doesn't know a stranger!Gilbert ... (Read More)is good with kids too. He has been around kids as young as 5 and has done great. He is also good with other dogs.     Meet Cash. This sweet, sweet boy is looking for a new forever home because of some changes in the family that are forcing him to be alone for extended periods of time. One change that has left Cash restless is the loss of his live-in dog buddy. Cash needs a new family who will have more time to run, play and cuddle with him. Cash is a 5-year-old German shepherd mix. His body shape looks like a whippet, slender, long tail, and a good medium frame. Cash is pretty shy with strangers in strange environments. He is never growly, snarly or bitey, just needs some time to get comfortable. It took him a solid 15-20 minutes when we met him before he ... (Read More)had really relaxed, but even before that he gladly accepted scratches and head rubs. Cash is a medium-energy guy who enjoys exercise, but doesn't obnoxiously demand it. He is used to running and playing in a fenced back yard. Cash is great with young children. He hasn't ever been around a large group of children, but individually he has been pretty patient. Cash prefers dogs his size or smaller. However, the right chemistry for a doggy companion might be more about temperament. Just like with people, Cash needs to take his time getting used to anything new. We don't know how he is with cats. Cash is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is housebroken and does not need to be crated. If you would like to meet Cash please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $150. (Less)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Butters and Sophie. This adorable pair is definitely bonded and definitely would do best sticking together. Butters is a 5 years old, and Sophie is 4 years old. They have grown up together and really enjoy each other's company. They play together, snuggle together, and spend all day every day by each other's side. Sophie and Butters were not raised around kids, cats, or other dogs. Our vibe is that they don't really need other dogs in their lives because they have each other. As for cats, it would probably have to be a cat that ignored dogs if they were going to all co-exist together. Butters and Sophie have occasionally been around ... (Read More)kids. Small kids really make both of them nervous. Both sweeties are friendly with people, although Butters prefers women over men. They are quiet little snuggle bugs most of the time. They do still get playful and have silly spells. They never compete for attention or food. They are lucky to have found their perfect mate. Butters is neutered. Sophie is spayed. They are both in need of vaccines and heartworm test which we will taken care of once we have them placed in foster or foster-to-adopt home. We will also make sure they are both microchipped. All vetting is included in the adoption fee. Butters and Sophie are housebroken and crate trained. They are used to a doggy door, but can adjust to predictable potty breaks just fine. If you are interested in meeting Butters and Sophie, please complete the adoption application in the link below. This is the first step in the adoption process. Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

Meet Peaches. We really think just the right picture will make a difference in getting a dog adopted. In all honesty, this is probably not *the* picture for this super duper adorable dog. Peaches is a 4-year-old pittie mix. She is squatty, wrinkly and has a head bigger than the rest of her body--just the way we like it. She is so cute. Peaches was a stray who ended up at IACS (formerly IACC). She was tested with dogs and didn't do well which meant she was deemed "rescue only". Well, not many people are looking for a pittie mix who doesn't like other dogs (or cats) and no rescues came forward. We were hesitant too. A fantastic ... (Read More)foster offered to take Peaches and give her a great temporary home. Of course we couldn't say no. Peaches is so wonderful with people. She is very friendly and loves young and old equally. Like we said above, she does need to be an only pet in the home though. She is a little strong on leash (Easy Walk harness is helpful). Otherwise, she is a well-behaved and a doll to share a home with. Peaches is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is solidly housebroken and quiet in her crate. Minus the aversion to other animals, Peaches is perfection. If you are interested in meeting Peaches, please complete the adoption application in the link below. This is the first step in the adoption process. Be sure to include on the application any questions you have. After we review the applications, we will arrange individual meet and greets. Rescue Me ID: 16-09-30-00274Eli (male)

Boston Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Eli. Isn't he the cutest? This little guy is an almost 3-year-old Boston terrier mix. He's such an adorable combo of unknown breeds. We see some dachshund and possibly beagle. He's a little guy with a lot of personality. He weighs about 20 pounds and is full of happy-go-lucky smiles. Eli can be shy at first in some environments, but once he warms up, he loves to get attention. Eli has been raised around kids, cats, and dogs and does well with all of them. He could also do well as an only pet as long as he gets sufficient playtime and cuddles. Speaking of playtime, Eli loves to play fetch--tennis balls are awesome. He knows some basic ... (Read More)commands and walks well on leash. He likes to snuggle in bed with his people and would be an excellent dog park candidate. He is crate trained, but does bark a bit once you leave him and then he settles down. In case you haven't noticed, Eli had cherry eye in his picture, but that is corrected now. He is already neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. If you would like to adopt Eli, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette@aol.com. HIs adoption fee is $175. (Less)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

Meet Solana. This sweet girl can be added to our list of great saves. She, along with two others, was given a given a deadline at IACC to either find rescue or be put to sleep. As awful as it sounds, sometimes large-intake shelters have to make awful choices when they get bombarded with strays and owner surrenders. When there is no place for the dogs to go, what other choices do they have? We get it and try to help when we can. Solana was definitely worth the save! Solana is a two-year-old pittie mix. She is a compact girl with a lot of strength in her little body. She weighs 45 pounds. We can tell she has something else non-bully in her ... (Read More)mix, but we aren't sure what. Maybe Jack Russell? Anyway, we love Solana and her friendly playful spirit. She is a total sweetheart who makes friends quickly. She was abandoned in her home for several days before she was found. She was scared and very thin. You would never know by her awesome spirit--she is happy, bouncy playful, and always ready for snuggles. Solana loves having a canine companionship. She is deaf and might feel comforted having another dog to read body language and cues about her surroundings. Solana does not do well with cats. We could see Solana in a home with children who are steady on their feet. She get a little bouncy when she's extra excited. Solana is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is housebroken, but not crate trained. Well, she can go into a crate, but absolutely hates it. At her foster home she is confined to one room and does great. She will need more work on commands. It's a little tough because of her deafness. Simply giving a verbal command won't cut it. We are working on hand cues with er and want her forever family to do the same. Please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting if you are interested in meeting Solana. Her adoption fee is $150. (Less)

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Hunter. This guy is the calmest, most lovable guy. He's another local stray who has not been claimed. We don't know his history, but he must have been loved at one point. Hunter is about 7 years old and weighs about 35 pounds. His breed mix is as big of a mystery as his past. His unique look makes him even more special. Hunter does well with most other dogs, cats, and would be fine around calmer, gentle children. He may not be an ideal playmate for a rowdy dog. Hunter does well on leash and has great basic manners. Pit Bull Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Brad Pit. See what we did? With such good looks we thought the name was quite appropriate. Brad was found in Carroll County, all alone in the middle of the road. He was emaciated and scared. Brad's finders took him in, looked for his owners, and took him to a vet. Brad is now a happy, healthy guy who needs a forever home. Brad is about 8 months old. He is clearly a pit, but those eyes and his markings really scream Catahoula. He weighs about 50 pounds. Brad is a very friendly guy who loves making new human friends. He greets everyone with a wagging tail, a big smile and a little bounce. The biggest reason Brad cannot stay with his ... (Read More)finders is that he doesn't seem to prefer other animals in his life. Similar-sized dogs with slow introductions might work out. Otherwise, Brad would be totally content as an only pet. He loves to run and play, but can easily entertain himself. His ball is everything. He will stand at the top of the stairs, drop the ball, then chase after as it bounces and rolls away. Not only is Brad fun and funny, he is also a lovable baby. He is cuddly and sweet. His ideal home will love him bunches and continue the training the finders have started. Brad is super smart and loves to learn, especially when treats are involved. Brad is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is solidly housebroken and crate trained. Other than the grumbles at other animals, he is perfect little boy. Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament

We know bonded pairs are a challenge, but check out these two beauties who are in need of a fantastic home together. Meet Ginger and Gabby. These sweet girls are 3.5-year-old pit/golden retriever mixes. They are a bonded pair of littermates who do not not know life apart. They are looking for a forever home together. And as their foster mom has reported, "Anybody would be lucky to have them. They are the sweetest and most loving four legged children ever." Gabby is the larger, fluffier one of the two, weighing 65 pounds. Ginger weighs 55 pounds. They kind of gauge their energy around yours. They can be ready to play at a moment's ... (Read More)notice and really like to play ball in the yard. They also play with one another quite a bit. To the untrained ear it can sound pretty rough, but they are just loud and enthusiastic. When that's over, they are ready to hunker down and have some lazy time. But if you go to another room, the girls are coming with. Gabby and Ginger are good with other dogs for the most part. They don't seems to like dominant females though. Alpha males and non-dominant males or females are just fine. They are being fostered with other dogs and are doing well. Gabby and Ginger are fine with children, but we don't know how they are with cats. Both dogs are spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped. They are solidly housebroken and crate trained. At the foster's house they stay together in a 5'x10' outdoor kennel inside the climate controlled garage while everyone is at work. Jack Russell Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Taffy is a 4 year old, Jack Russell mix. She loves to run and play. She also loves to explore which makes it a bad idea for her to be off leash when not contained in a fenced yard. She is pretty shy towards strangers with cameras, but will gladly perk up for pizza crust. Taffy has been raised around children and has been very patient with them. We think children who understand how to take things slow as she adjusts to a new environment in the beginning will be her new best friend. Taffy has also been raised around other dogs. She likes to romp and play with them too. The same approach holds true here. She needs a slow transition before her ... (Read More)really playful side shines through. As for cats, she has been around outside cats but we don't know how she would be with them indoors, although we guess she would be fine. Taffy is pretty quiet in the home, but loves to go out and bark at squirrels in the trees. Taffy is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is solidly housebroken and crate trained although she is also trustworthy without a crate. This is pretty impressive since this girl has been raised as a mostly outside dog. She has been very easy in her foster home and is a great all around dog. She 's so smart and willing to learn anything. Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults

Health: Neutered

Meet Trooper. This adorable lab is a 5-year-old calm, sweet guy who needs a new home because he attacked the neighbor's chickens and keeping him leashed or contained is not an option for the current family. Trooper is a special guy for so many reasons, the biggest being his ability to overcome adversity. A few years ago Trooper was let out by a housesitter and he took off. No one was able to find him for a few days until a farmer happened across him with his leg stuck in a fence. Sadly, Trooper's rear, right leg was amputated. Trooper bounced back quickly and still runs as fast (or faster) than the family's other dogs with 4 legs. Trooper ... (Read More)is a gentle soul who still loves to run and play. He has been raised around children of all ages and is patient with them. He is also around other dogs. He likes to play and wrestle a bit. Sometimes he plays fetch, but he isn't always great about bringing the ball back. Trooper has been around outside cats. He does chase them sometimes, but he is also willing to lay in the sunshine together with them. Trooper is looking for a home who will help us get him to his vet appointment for vaccines and a heartworm test once he is placed. He is already neutered. Trooper has recently lived outside since the family decided they didn't want dogs inside. We are guessing that he is still housebroken. He has never been crated, but is sometimes is in an outside pen. Trooper weighs about 60 pounds. We think that he will need a home that doesn't have too many steps. We just aren't sure if he can climb stairs with his three legs, as he has never had to do that before. We also think a fenced yard would be ideal. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Chubs, a 7-year-old American bully (or some say pit mix). This squatty little muscle man is amazing in so many ways, but we feel we need to get the one flaw out of the way first. Chubs hates other animals. It's a fact. He cannot live with another animals. Even on leash he will tug pretty hard to get to another animal if he sees one. This makes walks difficult. Chubs will need a securely fenced yard to keep him from being naughty and to keep neighborhood animals safe. The lack of walking doesn't bother Chubs much because he runs out of steam rather quickly anyway. Now for all of the things that make Chubs amazing. He is the biggest ... (Read More)sweetheart and a 70-pound baby. He loves people so much and is so dedicated to them. He also adores children. he is super tolerant and has been around kids of all sizes. Of course, we say this not as an invitation for kids to not know their boundaries, but rather to say that Chubs doesn't mind if a kid runs past him or sits next to him watching TV. Chubs has good manners and knows some basic commands. He is not a big barker unless he feels he needs to alert the family to something like a passing dog. This cutie loves meeting new people and going for rides. Adoption includes neuter, up to date shots, heartworm negative, and microchip. He is housebroken and is not crate trained because he hasn't ever needed to be. They took Samson in, fattened him up, and got him ready to move on to a new home that will promise never to treat him like he had been treated in the past. Of course we agreed to help. Samson is a 6-month-old pittie mix boy. He is everything you can imagine--adorable, funny, playful, cuddly, affectionate, and a little naughty. Samson plays well with other dogs and has lived with cats. We can't say for sure whether he did well with them or not. We would trust Samson with ...
