Rescue Me ID: 17-11-16-00070Sebbo (male)

Beagle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Please read entire description. Sebbo's adoption fee is $175. The first and required step before meeting Sebbo is to complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adotping. Meet Sebbo. This super cute, spunky, funny, ball of energy is a 1-year-old mixed breed guy. One volunteer described him as a beagle, corgi something or other. He weighs about 30 pounds and is full of life and light. Sebbo loves to smile and to get attention. Sebbo is very friendly with all humans. He loves to greet new people and thinks that laps were made for him. He loves to chase tennis balls, but it's pretty doubtful that he ... (Read More)will bring one back. That might get better as he gets more practice. Sebbo knows a couple of commands and loves to get treat rewards. He will need more practice on leash, but an Easy Walk harness is helping him learn. Sebbo seems to like to be the only pet in a household. He has been around children as young as five and has done great. He loves to sleep in his person's bed at night and being alone is not his favorite, but he does ok in his crate when his person has to leave. He is housetrained. Sebbo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. If you would like to offer Sebbo a foster or forever home or if you have any questions, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-11-10-00233Raven (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

If you would like to meet Raven, please complete an application in the link below. This is the first step in the adoption process. Please include any questions you have directly on the application. After we review the applications, we will arrange individual meet and greets. Raven's adoption fee is $175. www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting.html Meet Raven. This cutie pie is about 5 months old and a little bundle of puppy greatness. She is energetic, silly, and so sweet. Raven was a stray whose owner never claimed her despite our certainty that someone somewhere was missing her. Raven appears to be a black lab puppy, perhaps a mix. ... (Read More)It's too hard to tell at this point. What we can say is that Raven is the perfect puppy for any active household who doesn't mind kisses, snuggles, and a lot of playtime. Raven would benefit from some basic puppy training. Surprisingly, Raven knows how to sit and shake for a treat. All of the other training essentials still need to be taught--exactly what you can expect from any puppy. As you can see from her pics, Raven is treat motivated and ready to learn. Trust us when we say that this little girl is a smart little cookie! Raven has lived with a foster dog and has done well. She is a rough and tumble player who could potentially be too much for a senior or dog that does not match her play style. Raven is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. If you would like to meet Raven, please complete an application in the link below. This is the first step in the adoption process. Please include any questions you have directly on the application. After we review the applications, we will arrange individual meet and greets. Raven's adoption fee is $175. www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting.html (Less)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

If you are interested in meeting Ace, please complete a required application on our website as the first step of the adoption process. www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. In order for us to process questions and applications more timely, include any questions directly on the application. Ace's adoption fee is $175. Meet Ace. Those eyes just melt us. Ace is an incredible handsome 4-year-old Jack Russell/border collie mix. Ace lands in the 'medium' category, but only barely since he weighs about 33 pounds. Ace is a wonderful guy with a super sweet, cuddly personality. Ace does great with other dogs, but would do we fine in a home ... (Read More)without another dog if not left alone too long. He has never lived without a friend. However, he absolutely loves 1-on-1 attention. Ace has lived with cats in the past. Hopefully he has maintained his love of felines. Ace LOVES children, but he isn't a fan of a lot of roughhousing around him. He is pretty easy to please: cuddles, food, cuddles, food, playtime, repeat. Ace is a Velcro dog and wants to be wherever his people are. As we mentioned above he is super cuddly and oh so sweet. He is playful and has always enjoyed a fenced yard to explore and sniff. Ace has great house manners and does not need to be crated. He is also a rock star for a bath! Ace is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Ace is also solidly housebroken. (Less)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Please read entire description. Angel's adoption fee is $100. Please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. This is the required first step of the adoption process. Meet Angel. This little tripod got her name because she truly is a miracle dog. She was given a second chance at life. She is a blue pit bull that is about 5 years old. She was found on the side of the road by animal control already missing her back right leg left. She was in severe pain, full of infection. She is a survivor and has the scars to prove it, but look beyond her scars and you will see a loving, caring dog who just ... (Read More)wants to find a forever home. Angel is spayed, up to date on shots, and microchipped. Angel would prefer a home without cats or other dogs. She does well with children and is very snuggly and sweet. Rescue Me ID: 17-11-02-00199Tux (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Not Good with Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Please read entire description. The first and required step of the adoption process is to complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $175. Tux will require a canine playmate and a fenced yard. Meet Tux. This handsome guy is a 9-month-old sweetie. He really is an all-around mixed breed guy. Dad is a variety of breeds and mom is a variety of breeds which means that Tux is his own unique combination of who-knows-what and weighs about 40 pounds. Our best guess is some shepherd and some border collie. Mom definitely has some beagle, but we don't see that in Tux. Tux came to us ... (Read More)along with his mom Little Miss, his dad Leo, and his sister Cocoa Bean--all of whom have gone into homes. Tux can be a little unsure of new people and places. However, after he takes a minute or two to size up the situation he is relaxed, silly, and snuggly. Tux's greatest love is other playful dogs. He loves his dad bunches, but also loves to play with other young, silly dogs--this will be a requirement in his forever home. Tux's other great love is the garden hose, something we just recently learned. Tux would be an ideal candidate for doggy daycare or a dog park. Tux has never really spent much time with cats, but barks in their presence. A home with no cats is preferred. Tux would be fine with older children. Tux is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartwom negative, and microchipped. He is also solidly housebroken, but has never been crated. He does well being confined to one room of the house when unsupervised. If you would like to meet Tux or if you have any questions, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-11-02-00185Tux and Leo (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

Please read entire description. Tux and Leo's total adoption fee is $225. The first and required step to meet them is to complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Meet Tux and Leo. These two guys are not only father and son, but also best buds. We have had them posted separately looking for a forever. However, we really wanted to give our best effort to find them a home together. They go together like peanut butter and jelly, mac and cheese, bacon and eggs...you get the picture. Tux (with the white) just turned 1 year and Leo (with the pointy ears) is about 4. They are both mixed breed ... (Read More)guys with some shepherd uniting them. Tux's mom looked like a beagle mix although he doesn't obviously carry that trait. Tux and Leo are very sweet boys who are super easy to please. They love to run and play with each other and with other dogs--they will need a fenced yard for this. They also enjoy squeaky toys and antlers. They know a few commands and are decent on leash. They ride in the car well. In fact, they do most everything well when they are together. They would do great at a dog park to run and play with their friends. Tux is a bit too interested in cats, so we recommend a feline-free home. Both boys are very cuddly and love their people a ton. They are well behaved in the house and don't need to be crated, just confined to one room of the house.Neither of them are big barkers, although they will alert you if a scary squirrel might be lurking in the yard. Both guys are fully vetted: neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. They are also solidly housebroken. (Less)

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. This is a required first step if interested in meeting this dog. If the ad is still visible, we are still accepting applications. Groot's adoption fee is $175. Meet Groot. This guy could also be named 'Big Ol' Baby.' Groot is super uniquely handsome, but also a bundle of fun. We have no idea what Groot's breeds are; this is the guy DNA tests were made for. What we do know is that he is about 70 pounds or so and no more than a year old, likely 10 months-ish. He has so many puppy qualities to him. Please take note of his giant paws. If he has to grow ... (Read More)into those things, he might end up even bigger. Groot is everything you can expect of a puppy. He loves the world, and everyone is his friend. He seems very excited to play with other dogs. We have not seen him interact with cats, but since his life motto is 'be my friend,' we think he will chase and try to make kitties like him even if they want to keep their distance. Groot would be fine with kids who are steady on their feet and not intimidated by large, striped beasts who don't know their own size. Groot will need some work on commands and leash manners. He will not need to be taught how to be cuddly and kissy; he has that mastered. Groot's favorite things are toys and treats--he just hasn't learned that he has to actually do something for the treat. Balls are fun, but their true purpose is still a mystery. Kongs are amazing and keep him busy for hours. Groot is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on shots. Rescue Me ID: 17-11-02-00160Boomer (male)

Australian Cattle Dog    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

If you are interested in meeting Boomer, please complete a required application on our website as the first step of the adoption process. www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. In order for us to process questions and applications more timely, include any questions directly on the application. Boomer's adoption fee is $175. Meet Boomer. This adorable guy is a 10-month-old Australian cattledog. He is adorable, feisty, full of energy, and a great cuddler. Boomer is looking for an energetic adopter who gets his DNA--intelligent and looking for a job to do. In the short time we have had Boomer in our program he has already learned so much ... (Read More)about commands and house manners. We are very proud of him (and foster mom ) for the progress he has made. His foster mom has done a great job making him such a sweet, lovable, well-behaved guy. Boomer was not raised around other dogs, but has been fostered with a couple of dogs. He does decently well, but can be a handful for some non-tolerant dogs. He wants to play, gets excited, but isn't always sure how this dog stuff really goes. With the right dynamic he could live successfully with a dog buddy in the home. We do not recommend cats. Boomer was raised around small children. He can be a bit jumpy for some non-durable kiddos, but he does love to play with humans of all ages. Boomer loves a morning dose of tug followed by a little more time to be silly. While he plays with toys or his foster siblings, he stops periodically to check in with foster mom. He'll bounce on over to where she is, get some attention, and then bounce right back to what he was doing before. Boomer also likes fetch but gets bored easily. His curiosity for things coupled with his energy makes a fenced yard a must. He rides well in the car and likes to go for walks, especially if he thinks he might spot a feline enemy. and when none of the above is an option, Boomer wants to cuddle and be an extra sweet snuggle baby. Boomer is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. He is housebroken and crated trained too. (Less)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Please read entire description. The first step of the adoption process is to complete a required application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Once completed, we ill review it and be in touch. Pretty's adoption fee is $100. If her ad is still up, we are still accepting applications. Meet Pretty, yes, Pretty Pittie. It's a challenge to say quickly, but it so suits this hunk of a little girl. Pretty is a 9-month-old pittie pup who is just adorable. She is stunning to look at and a hoot to watch play. She currently weighs about 45 pounds, but might still fill out a bit more. Pretty, as you might guess, has a lot of ... (Read More)energy, but she just needs regular play time and she is good for a good cuddle. Pretty is currently in a home with other dogs and has met a few new dogs on leash. She has been great with everyone, but she does like to really run and wrestle--not ideal for older dogs. Sometimes she paws at dogs like a cat because her current playmate is a kitty who swats at Pretty while playing. Pretty has also been raised around small kids, she does sometimes swing her booty around and knock them down accidentally, but overall she is pretty awesome at gauging herself on their willingness to play. Pretty is a total pup. She needs help learning commands. Again, in a home with regular playtime and regular attention, Pretty will do just fine. The good thing is that Pretty isn't the typical bouncing, jumping pittie pup (also not at all mouthy)--she is attentive and ready to learn. Besides a home that will provide structure and training, Pretty would love a chance to cuddle on the couch or even in bed. Pretty is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is also solidly housebroken and well behaved in her crate. If you would like to meet Pretty, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Her adoption fee is $150. (Less)

In order for us to process questions and applications more timely, include any questions directly on the application. Thumper's adoption fee is $175. Meet Thumper. Besides his obvious good looks, Thumper also has an awesome personality. Thumper is a 1.5-year-old, 60-pound rottie/shepherd mix with probably some other breeds in there too. He is super handsome and his smile melts many hearts. Thumper is looking for a new home because he has decided he does not ... (Read More)want to share his home with children. It has surprised everyone who knows him because he loves humans otherwise. Thumper has been raised around other dogs. He loves a good game of chase and might prefer a sweet dog buddy in his forever home. It's hard to say because he hasn't known it any other way. He has also been raised around cats and does not pay them any attention. Older children who are predictable and gentle will be fine for Thumper. Thumper isn't much into toys but does love to explore outdoors. He would like an active and snuggly companion in his forever home--he's medium energy and not at all obnoxious. Even while taking pictures it was hard for us to get out of the background because he wanted to touch or lean at all times. He is such a sweet guy! Thumper is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm tested. He is also microchipped. Thumper is housebroken and crate trained, but has not been known to be destructive. (Less)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

In order for us to process questions and applications more timely, include any questions directly on the application. Lobby's adoption fee is $75. Meet Lobster Bisque. Before you think his name was randomly chosen, we ask you to think of something that appears regal, but underneath it all provides comfort. For us Lobster Bisque fits the bill. This guy is so handsome and sits like he's royalty. His worry lines are misleading because he is very happy and ... (Read More)absolutely loves his people, In fact, he makes our mood better when he is cuddled in our laps. Lobby, as we call him, is a 1-year-old mixed breed guy who weighs about 55 pounds. He is gentle, medium energy, and well behaved. He knows a couple of commands and loves that treats are given as a reward for a good performance. He doesn't obnoxiously jump on people in a hyper way, but he does like to jump up gently and give a hug. We know that's not for everyone, but we love his affection. We are trying to get him to do it on command to eliminate the chance of getting visitors dirty. Now that Lobby has settled in, we think he would do well with other playful dogs. He gets a little excited and may not do great in a large group, but one-on-one would give him a chance to run around silly. Lobby would do best in a home with no other cats, though. He seems fine to walk past them--he just isn't interested in interacting with them. We think Lobby would be fine with older kids who can handle his sudden hugs. Lobby is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He has kept his kennel clean, which leads us to believe that he is housebroken. He has not shown any tendencies to be destructive or have high desire to chew. (Less)

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults

If you are interested in meeting Aries, please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. If the ad is still visible, we are still accepting applications. His adoption fee is $75. Aries is only about 1 year old (yep, and already a dad) and weighs about 45 pounds. He is a squatty little meat brick with a silly, charming personality. He loves all people, unless they are holding a camera. ;) Aries has a decent amount of energy, but knows how to tire himself out. If he is safely contained in a fenced yard, he will run himself silly playing with toys. He loves balls, but isn't always stellar ... (Read More)about returning them for a proper game of fetch. Aries seems to like most or maybe all dogs. He would be fine as an only dog in the home. If he had a buddy, the buddy would probably need to have a similar amount of energy. We do not know how he is with cats. Aries would do fine with kids who are steady on their feet. He can be bouncy at times and little ones might get knocked over. We would love to see Aries in a home with a fence or access to a fenced area so that he can run and be his silly self. He will need work on commands and leash manners, but his people-oriented nature will likely make things fairly easy. We also hope his forever family will love his desire to cuddle and give kisses; he is an expert at this. Aries is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is in boarding and doing well so we can only assume that he would also be housebroken in a home environment. Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults

The first step of the adoption process is to complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. If the ad is still viewable, we are still accepting applications. The adoption fee is $75. Meet Snickers. This adorable brindle girl is a 2-year-old mixed breed baby. Although everyone wants to jump to label bully mixed dogs as pits--we were told by the previous owner that she was--Snickers seems to be something else. She is a slender build 40-pound girl with lanky legs. Perhaps she has some boxer in her, but we just don't know. One thing we are certain of, Snickers is a super duper sweetheart! Snickers seems ... (Read More)to love all people. She is silly, playful, and totally cuddly; she is also quite kissable. We think kids who don't mind a girl who can get bouncy when extra excited would be a good fit for her. So far, we have not seen Snickers show any fondness for other animals. We will gradually introduce to other dogs and see if we can find a size or gender preference. At this point we think she should be the only pet. Snickers would love a home that will give her plenty of attention. She is a bit of a velcro buddy ad really likes to be with her people. She doesn't have a large repertoire of tricks, but she listens well and likes to be rewarded for good behavior. Snickers is look for a foster or foster-to-adopt home where she can trade a cozy bed for the kennel. Snickers will be spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. This handsome guy is a 5-ish-year-old pittie mix who weighs about 65 pounds. Ash is a very loving, smart, and easy going guy who doesn't need a super active home. However, Ash is looking for a new home where he can be the only pet. Ash has been living a quiet country life and seems to love that environment. He has lived with children for the last 4 years and does great with them. However, we aren't sure how he would do transitioning to a new home with new kids. Older ... (Read More)kids would probably be best. Ash loves female dogs, but is not a fan of other male dogs. He also does not like cats. Ash is a pretty low-energy guy who would be happy exploring outdoors, lounging around and going for car rides. If you're up for it, Ash would also be happy to rid your yard of any mole problems. ;) Ash is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. He is also crate trained and solidly housebroken. Please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $125. (Less)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Lyla. What a doll this girl is! Lyla is a 2-year-old pittie mix who weighs about 45 pounds. She is a perfect medium size to go with her perfect medium energy. Lyla was surrendered to a local vet office because her family couldn't afford to care for her properly. Thankfully the clinic really had her best interest in mind, brought her up to date on all vetting, and placed her in a loving foster home. Lyla is a super loving, sweet girl who loves to just kind of hang out around her people. She would cuddle in her people's lap all day if time would allow. She does like to run around silly from time to to time, but she also loves to be lazy, ... (Read More)nap, and chew on her bones. Her favorites toys are tennis balls and sticks. ALL sticks. Lyla is very good girl who knows some basic commands and a couple party tricks--one of which is doing a handstand while going potty! Lyla has been around dogs smaller than she is and has done very well. She has never been around dogs her size or larger. She is fostered with cats who don't really care that she exists; the feeling is mutual. As for kids, Lyla is pretty inexperienced from what we can tell. She gets very nervous around kids and doesn't even want to approach. We think adult-sized humans are the best fit for Lyla. Perhaps over time with slow introductions, she could learn to love kiddos too. Lyla is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is solidly housebroken and crate trained too. If you would like to meet Lyla, please complete an application in the link below. Please include any questions you have directly on the application. After we review the applications, we will arrange individual meet and greets. Lyla's adoption fee is $150. www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting.html (Less)

Chihuahua    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed

Please read full description. If ad is listed we are still accepting applications on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. This is the first step of the adoption process and required. Meet Delores Marie or Lola for short. Lola is an adorable larger-sized chihuahua who is approaching her third birthday. This adorable girl is not the type of dog that can go into any home. Her needs are specific, but we are willing to search high and low to find her what she needs. Lola is a truly wonderful, loyal companion when she chooses you. If she doesn't like you or trust you, you are fighting an uphill battle in changing her mind. ... (Read More)We know that people are going to stop right there and not want to meet her. That's fine; we understand. However, we would appreciate it if you could continue reading and at least share her post--that's the only way we are going to find that special home for her. Lola is very smart and has been trained extensively through clicker training and knows a host of commands and tricks. She responds very well to positive reinforcement as she is very treat and toy motivated. With that being said, she is still a bit of a resource guarder around people not included in her inner circle. Lola, despite having been raised around kids, cannot co-exist in a home with kids. Their unpredictable nature and sudden noises make her very nervous. She is also iffy around other dogs. With slow, methodical introductions Lola has learned to tolerate some other dogs but it isn't always easy to make that happen. Lola does ignore mature cats. She likes kittens too, but she plays too rough with the when she gets too excited. Lola loves to go for car rides and rides well in the car. She is also an expert fetcher. She will fetch tennis balls all day if you let her. When Lola isn't going for walks or playing in the house, she is ready to be the best cuddle buddy she can be. Lola is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is housebroken as long as you are watching her walk to the door--she won't bark to let you know she has to go. She is also crate trained. If you would like to meet Delores Marie, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Her adoption fee is $125. (Less)

Please fully read description and complete an application on our website if you are interested in meeting this dog at www.paswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. As long as the ad is available, we are still accepting applications. Meet Stryker. This handsome guy is awesome. He is really a cool guy who is pretty easy to please. A little exercise, something to chew on, and the opportunity to follow you from room to room makes him a happy camper. Stryker is 1.5-year-old mixed breed guy. He weighs bout 60 pounds and might be a boxer/shepherd/who-knows-what mix. The soft brindle coat is gorgeous. Stryker is a very friendly, happy guy who gets ... (Read More)along with everyone. He is currently living with children and does great with them. He also lives with a cat. He would kind of like it if the cat would play, but this feline roommate isn't the least bit interested. Stryker loves to play with other dogs. He could live with another dog or be an only dog who has play date or visits to the dog park. We do think he would enjoying having a buddy around at least part time. If you are looking for a total cuddle buddy, Stryker is not your guy. He loves to be near his people and will follow them everywhere, but he doesn't want to be draped across their laps or snuggled up in in bed. He knows several commands and is treat motivated. He needs more leash practice, although he has gotten much better with a harness. Stryler is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Karlee. This pretty girl is an 8-year-old husky mix and is absolutely stunning. Karlee is a sweet girl who is looking for a doting, patient family who will love her for exactly who she is. Karlee can be a little anxious at times and paces quite a bit. She is almost always walking around with her tongue hanging way out--we just happened to catch her at the right moment where only part of her tongue can be seen. Although most people associate anxiety with destruction, this is not the case with Karlee. She has been free to roam the unsupervised for many years without issue. Karlee has been raised with another dog and some of her stress ... (Read More)could be associated with the loss of the other pet. However, Karlee doesn't seem to want to be around other animals anymore. She tolerates them fine, but isn't looking to be buddies. She currently lives with a cat, but Karlee stays clear of her whenever possible. Karlee is inexperienced with children. Teenagers who know how to go slow with introductions would be fine. An ideal home for Karlee would give her plenty of exercise. She once had a yard to run around in, but is now confined to a tie out and then comes right back in. Since this change, Karlee has packed on some weight. She is also currently left alone for long periods of time, something she hasn't always had to deal with. All in all, Karlee just wants to be loved and to have special person in her life who will spoil her. Karlee is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is solidly housebroken and does not need to be crated. If you would like to meet Karlee please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

Meet Leo. This affectionate, snuggley boy is a 3-year-old shepherd mix. He probably has a few breeds in his mix, but we just can't tease them all out. His unique look with a somewhat longer body and a naturally stubby tail make him incredibly cute--oh gosh, how could we almost forget to mention those ears! He weighs about 45 pounds and is a perfect medium size. Leo can be a little shy at first, but once he knows he's safe, he is very loving and very much a Velcro dog. Leo has been raised with his own family including his girlfriend (now in a home) and their two pups (both up for adoption.) He craves other dog attention and must be placed ... (Read More)in a home with another friendly dog, preferably one who wouldn't mind his cuddles. If someone were interested in two dogs, Leo and his son Tux do great together. Leo has also been around cats. He doesn't pay much attention to them overall. We think Leo would do fine with gentle children. He has met kids and been fine, but he has never lived with them. Leo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is also solidly housebroken. Leo has never been crated, but does well being confined to a room of the house. If you would like to meet Leo please complete an adoption application on our website. We will only consider homes for Leo that have another canine. His adoption fee is $175.     Please read entire description. As long as the ad is still available, we are still accepting applications on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. This is a required first step of the adoption process. His adoption fee is $175. Meet Remy. This handsome boy is a 1.5-year-old hound/lab mix who totally looks like a hound in one picture and a lab in the next (see comments below). Remy is kind of perfect and awesome and totally easy to love. He is friendly, silly, happy, playful, and super loving. Remy used to live with other dogs and seems to still want to be friends with any canine willing to be his friend. Recently he ... (Read More)has been an only dog and has been just as content as long as he gets plenty of play time and play dates. Remy also gets along well with cats. He wants to play with them, but is also respectful if they aren't feeling it. Our 60-pound love bug is quite the hugger, even if it isn't super appropriate. Interestingly he loves kids and doesn't hug the little ones who could topple over from his size. He always has an upbeat personality. Remy likes to go for walks, but does need an Easy Walk harness to keep him from tugging as much. He rides well in the car and alternates between looking out the window and curling up in a ball to take a nap. Remy loves toys, but most don't last super long. He shreds things that belong to him unless they are extra durable. Remy is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is also solidly housebroken and crate trained. We want to add that Remy has always had a fenced yard and always does his business in the yard and not on walks. We aren't sure if he would be so perfectly housebroken if he had to rely on leashed walks for potty breaks. Due to the emergent situation with harsh weather, we put the dogs in boarding to keep them safe and to wait for their family to claim them. It never happened. Rigatoni is about 2 years old and weighs about 75 pounds. He is the epitome of a gentle ... (Read More)giant. Rigatoni really loves attention from his people--he is so sweet, loving, and happy. He also has an independent side where he can entertain himself. He is particularly interested in exploring the great outdoors--he must, however, be safely contained in a fenced yard! Rigatoni gets along with other dogs and wouldn't mind a play buddy as long as they aren't over-the-top hyper. We aren't sure about cats in a home with Rigatoni. He has met some very disinterested cats and seems to ignore them if they ignore him. Rigatoni's finders had children who played with him while he waited to be rescued. He doesn't know much about toys, but he is starting to show interest in tennis balls and sticks. Rigatoni is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. Rat Terrier Mix    Age: Senior

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Piper. This adorable girl is an 11-year-old rat terrier/Jack Russell terrier mix. Piper is a sweetheart, but has not done well adjusting to children in the family. For this reason she is looking for a calm retirement home where she can sunbathe in the day and cuddle at night. We understand that there are challenges when looking for adopters for a senior dog, but we are confident that someone will love to have little Piper to hang out with to watch TV or to take on walks. Piper is still a spunky, spry girl who also still loves squeaky toys. She knows a few commands and is very well behaved in the home. When left alone Piper likes to ... (Read More)watch DogTV to pass the time. Adding to Piper's challenges is her desire to be an only pet. She has lived several years with Noella (also up for adoption) but has never really spent much time with other dogs. When she does encounter other dogs she mostly ignores them. She is quite the cat and other small critter chaser, so we think a home without cats would be best. And as we mentioned above, Piper would prefer no small children. She is a little cat-like in terms of being pet. When she wants attention she'll let you know. She does sometimes go to the kids for affection, but she gets annoyed when they pet too long or too hard. Piper is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She is also solidly housebroken and does not need to be crated.     Meet Noella. No matter which picture we thought about posting, Noella looks like a medium sized dog. We're not sure what is so deceiving, but this girl is a 6-year-old chihuahua/Jack Russell terrier mix and weighs about 15 pounds. Her mesmerizing blue eye catches your attention, but her personality will steal your heart. This little girl has the lap dog desires of a small dog, but the readiness for exploring outdoors like a big dog. She's the best of both worlds. Noella lived the first part of her life child free and since the addition of two kids, she can get stressed out. She has never bitten, but does sometimes low growl to warn kids ... (Read More)when the petting is too much. On the other hand she does sometimes choose to lay right in between the kids just to hang out. We think older, more predictable kids who know how to be gentle would be ideal for her. Noella has not been raised with other dogs besides the one other dog in her home. She would do best as an only dog in her new home. Noella does not like cats. Noella knows a few commands and has great house manners. She is trustworthy in the home without a crate and has been for many years. Noella also loves to ride in the car and run around off leash--she would best be suited for a home with a fenced yard. If she does go for a walk, she walks well on leash. She loves to sunbathe and to play with squeaky toys too. Noella is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.     Meet Reggie. This handsome guy with the best ears is a 5-year-old Catahoula mix. Reggie is a sweet, sweet boy who loves to cuddle and meet new people. He often looks way more serious than he really is--Reggie can be very playful and silly too. Reggie is currently fostered with other dogs and does great. There is one dog that is probably too similar in personality that he doesn't jive well with. In general he needs a slow introduction and then warms up pretty quickly after that. He ignores cats completely. Of course the ones he has been around have also ignored him too. Reggie hasn't had much experience with small children, so we would ... Depending on the day or mood, Reggie might be considered a medium-high energy kind of guy. In his forever home, where he will be able to get a little more individualized attention, we suspect that he will be a little more low key. Reggie is decent on leash and rides well in the car.     Meet Boris. This guy is so handsome and has one of the best smiles we have seen. He is a friendly, energetic, silly guy who would love to live with an active person who can appreciate his desire to be adventurous. Boris is about 5 years old and is a pittie mix of sorts. He was originally from South Carolina and was found in the trunk of a car starved and heartworm positive. His foster mom took him in, got him healthy, and now he is ready for his forever home. Boris loves people and likes to tell them as often as possible. He gives kisses, hugs and does the typical pittie nibbles. He has never been aggressive, but still is mouthy during ... (Read More)play. Boris is good with other dogs, especially the ladies. He can be possessive over food. As long as he is fed separately, he is fine.Boris gets a long well with cats, but does chase them. He has never hurt a cat in his foster home--those cats are also pretty dog savvy. Boris would be fine with children who can handle his strength and energy. Like we mentioned above, he is never aggressive, but he can be bouncy and strong. We wouldn't want a child to accidentally get hurt by his enthusiasm. Boris is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. He is solidly housebroken and crate trained.
